W. A. Hendrickson Company Story

The W.A. Hendrickson Company possesses a century of experience as a Manufacturers’ Representative, currently specializing in the communications industry. A family business since its inception, the company was founded in the 1920’s by William Arlington Hendrickson (the WAH namesake). Initially focusing on radios and associated components, his sons, Bill & Bob, joined the business after serving in World War II and assumed leadership in 1959. They became heavily involved in the television, electronics, audio, and CB accessories industries in the 1970’s.

Bob’s sons, Rob and Eric, joined the firm in the 1980s and guided the company’s transition into the Land Mobile Radio industry with the addition of brands such as Kenwood Communications, which we continue to represent today. The company has also been strengthened by longtime friends and team members, including John Quinn (Inside Sales and Support since 1989), Mike Swanson (Outside Sales since 1997), and Scott Newkirk (Outside Sales since 2007). Johnny Hendrickson, Eric’s son and the fourth generation of Hendricksons to work for the company, began his tenure in 2015 and became a principal and minority owner in 2025. Today, Eric and Johnny lead the firm and look forward to the next century of partnership, innovation, and service to the communications industry.
